Executive Profiles

As Managing Director for Intuit India, Umang is responsible for leading the business and execution of the Global Business Division's strategic plans and to exceed business objectives. In addition, he is responsible for ensuring the implementation of Intuit's core business strategies by capitalizing on social, mobile and global market trends.

Prior to joining Intuit, Umang worked as the Business Head for Banking and Financial Services Industry at Symantec India. While he was at Symantec, Umang received the "CEO Victory Award" and the "Chairman's Circle Award" for outstanding contributions to the company. He has a diverse experience in the IT Industry with experience across Sales, Consulting, Professional Services, Pre-Sales and Software Development. In addition, Umang is a member of the working group on "Network and Information Security Standards for e-Governance in India" under the Government of India's "National e-Governance Program (NeGP). Umang is also a Charter Member of the TiE Bangalore chapter.

Before Symantec, Umang was with Sun Microsystems as the Country Solution Engagement Manager specializing in Telecom. During that period he was involved with the design and delivery of large telecom projects across Data Service Delivery Platforms, IPTV, OSS/BSS, Portal, Messaging and Identity Management. Prior to Sun, Umang has worked with Wipro & Satyam Computer Services in the areas of Enterprise Software development and consulting in India and in the USA. Umang graduated from the University of Pune with a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics.
