
As Managing Director for Intuit India, Umang is responsible for leading the business and execution of the Global Business Division's strategic plans. In addition, he is responsible for ensuring the implementation of Intuit's core business strategies and key partnerships by capitalizing on social, mobile and global market trends. Umang leads the formulation of the vision and execution of the strategy to help establish Intuit as a multinational thought leader with an "India for India" philosophy, helping SMBs and consumers achieve better financial outcomes. The strategy has two key elements - First establish Intuit as the small business champion in India by decreasing non-consumption via increased technology adoption. Second, build thought leadership in the personal financial domain by empowering the emerging middle class with money management solutions.
Prior to joining Intuit, Umang was the Business Head of the Banking and Financial Services segment at Symantec India. In this role, he helped grow the FSI business by over triple digits, year on year, by leveraging strategic enterprise level agreements with key financial institutions. Prior to Symantec, Umang was with Sun Microsystems as the Country Solution Engagement Manager specializing in Telecom. During this period he was involved with the design and delivery of large telecom projects across Data Service Delivery Platforms, IPTV, OSS/BSS, Portal, Messaging and Identity Management. Umang has also worked with Wipro and Satyam Computer Services in the areas of Enterprise Software development and consulting in India and in the USA..
Umang has extensive experience in the IT Industry across diverse areas such as Sales, Consulting, Professional Services, Pre-Sales and Software Development. In addition, he is a member of the working group on "Network and Information Security Standards for e-Governance in India" under the Government of India's "National e-Governance Program (NeGP). He is a Charter Member of the TiE Bangalore chapter and a member of several industry organizations like NASSCOM and IMA in India. He is a regular featured speaker at important conferences, including those at IIT and IIM. Umang graduated from the University of Pune with a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics.
